Calne Racing Betting Offers and Promotions
There are ample Calne Racing betting offers, when the time comes. There are numerous things that bookies like to do in the build-up, the event takes place in August, so they won’t come around until then, but things like free bets, or enhanced odds are common place. What’s more, you can check out our handy bonus page and use the general sign-up offers on any of the events you want, the only thing we’d advise is to check the T&Cs in order to adhere to all the wagering rules. Overall, this means you will have plenty to choose from when you are getting ready to play.
Calne Racing Betting Odds Prices
This is a pretty unpredictable race, and the Calne Racing betting odds generally reflect that. Since 2000 there have only been five favourites that have won. So, maybe it would be good to bet against them! In 2014, and 2015 there were two consecutive winners at 8/1. Those plucky punters who backed them surely had a good night after that. Overall, we found that the odds on offer from the bookies were good, and you stand a good chance of making a pretty penny if you back the right choice. This is easier said than done of course, but it’s not impossible!
Some Interesting Facts
Compared to some other races, this is a relatively new one. It now takes place at the Swindon Stadium, a fantastic location, that also is home to Oaks racing, it has a massive capacity of 2,000 and it can get rocking when the dogs are on form. It is also home to Speedway racing, so the facilities are quite nice. The prize money for the race is a nice £8,000. It isn’t the most, be still a nice haul if you have a winner. There have been plenty of big names to have set there foot here, and you can check out handy table below for a quick overview.

There are many Calne Racing betting sites out there, but the one listed above is surely the best. We would recommend it whole-heartedly and can only speak good things. This race has been blessed with some top nights, none other than when the dog listed below showed what he was made of. Just have a read and it will inspire you for sure!
Ballymac Brogan
In 2016, there was pressure building, it was a warm night and the punters were roaring. As a favourite, it should be expected that Brogan would win, but just looking at the past winners, it was not always that easy. Many have stepped up, only to crumble and fail, but not Ballymac. He outbattled Queen Asia and pipped them at the post. Causing wild scenes in the stands. His trainer, Seamus Cahill was overjoyed, his dog had become the first to complete the Juvenile/Arc double. A true legend in the making.
Historical info
Calne Racing betting hasn’t always been a fan favourite, but it has steadily developed over time. It was inaugurated in 1987 and was previously held at Walthamstow Stadium. This was until 2008 when it changed to its current venue of Swindon. There have been a number of sponsors throughout its history with the current being Calne, hence it’s the race’s name. The track record is held by Shaneboy Alley at a blistering 28.18, and it won’t be beaten anytime soon. Overtime it has become an important part of the racing scene, but like we said there are plenty of other top greyhound events in the UK, and this is just a warm up to those.
