The track itself was first raced upon in 1925 after the impromptu meeting between an American entrepreneur and several British aristocrats materialised in the consortium establish the Greyhound Racing Association Ltd. The organisation that had been formed managed to raise £22,000 in capital to fund their new venture and began deliberating where they should in fact establish the new greyhound racing stadium.
