There is also a snack bar that serves everything from burgers and pies to sandwiches.

Racing at Doncaster takes place every Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. On Mondays and Wednesdays, the first race starts at 6.27pm. Interesting Facts about the Stadium

Doncaster greyhound stadium was initially constructed in 1929 to host speedway racing. The site, which was marshland at the time, was transformed by the developers who used a combination of cinder and concrete topped with sand to create the track. Despite initially good crowds, owners Stainforth speedway company went into administration, and the company was liquidated in 1930. The Stainforth Amateur Athletic Club bought the stadium three years later, but the outbreak of World War 2 caused the cancellation of track events at the venue. In 1941 a greyhound track was added, and the first race was held on Saturday 22nd of March 1941.

Doncaster used to have two greyhound stadiums in the area, which is remarkable when you consider that the population of the city is only 109,800. The other venue was in the west of Doncaster in the Spotbrough area and was initially opened in 1928 by the Mansfield Greyhound Racecourse company. As is common for greyhound stadiums, the venue also hosted speedway racing and was the home of the Doncaster Stallions & Doncaster Dragons teams. The stadium also held stock car, hot rod and banger racing which enjoyed popularity in the 1980s. The Lincoln Sweepstakes, Leger Sweepstakes, Dennison Trophy and Rose Bowl Sweepstakes were held annually at the stadium.
