Harlow Greyhounds Stadium Facilities

Harlow is one of the newest tracks we have reviewed as the stadium only opened its doors in March in 1995. As you would expect for a new build, the facilities are excellent and are bang up to date.

Harlow greyhound track has a capacity of 1,500 with the carpark offering spaces for 400 cars. On the first floor, there is a restaurant and a fully licensed bar that offers unrivalled and unobstructed views of the track. The venue is a popular venue for celebrations and for team meetings and social events due to the Harlequin Suite that is available to be hired.

Harlow greyhound stadium currently offers two promotions which provide excellent value. The ‘Fast Five’ which is admission, race card, snack meal, bet, and drink is priced at £12 per adult and £6 per child. The ‘Six Pack, ‘ which involves a dining element is £12 per adult and £5 per child. The child deals do not contain any betting element nor alcohol, of course.

The venue is accessible for wheelchair users as there is a lift to the restaurant. If you intend to use this facility, it is advisable to call ahead to check availability.

It is disappointing that such a modern venue is lacking any facilities to withdraw money as the stadium has neither a cash point or any facility to offer cash back. The positive aspect of this is that it removes the temptation to spend more than you can afford. You can set your budget for the day, and you are safe in the knowledge that you are unable to go over this amount.

Harlow Greyhounds Track Events

Racing takes place every Monday & Wednesday evening, Friday, Saturday & on Sunday morning at Harlow greyhound stadium. The opening times and race times are as follows;

As readers of our track reviews will be aware, it can take a very long time for courses to be awarded a prestigious event. It is usually when a track closes that a venue inherits an event. As Harlow only opened for business in 1995, it missed out on many relocations. Despite the absence of a headline event, with up to 13 races per meeting, the venue still offers plenty of racing entertainment.

Interesting Facts about the Stadium

Harlow greyhound stadium has very close links with the local community, and the venue supports local schools, clubs and charities. On the Friday and Sunday morning sessions and also the Monday and Wednesday evening sessions, they operate a ‘Team Challenge’ which enables fundraising at no cost to the organisation.

The building of the stadium took just a year to complete. Work started in 1994 and it was open for the beginning of the 1995 season. The circumference of the track is 354 metres and although the race lengths can vary they are typically run over 238, 415, 592 and 769 metres. The stadium is located within the Pinnacles Industrial Estate, and thankfully it is one of the few signposted venues, perhaps because so many visitors turned up at nearby Harlow Town Football Club’s stadium. The stadium doesn’t have a grandstand but the views from the first-floor restaurant provide the ideal vantage point all year round, whatever the weather!

The Best Site for Harlow Dog Racing

We’ve always had a soft spot for venues that are different and watching Harlow dog racing certainly fits that criteria. As a working-class sport, the history books are littered with stories of stadia that overstretch themselves. Harlow has taken a different path and has a more sustainable model and feels like a venue built by fans of the sport, for fans of the sport. You won’t find a three-level cantilever million-pound grandstand here, but it doesn’t need it! You also won’t find Speedway, Sunday markets or amusement arcades here, but what you will find are dedicated professionals with a passion for greyhound racing. This creates a unique atmosphere that you’ll struggle to find elsewhere.

If Harlow is too much of a journey for you, it is possible to enjoy the races in the comfort of your own home. Each and every one of our trusted bookmakers allow you to partake in Harlow greyhound betting and some, for example bet365, will enable you to stream Harlow dog racing directly to your phone, tablet or PC. However, if you can go, go! It’s a unique and worthwhile experience.
